OBJECTIVES OF NURSERY EDUCATION Dear
Parent,
Welcome to S.S.V.M. We thank you for the trust you have in us as
shown by your decision to admit your school.
We will do our best to
develop the necessary potential. We expect your full co-operation in
following institution.
Our school was
first established in 1950 to cater to the educational needs of the
children of Visweswarapuram. Later, branches were started in Jayanagar,
Govipuram and Banashankari. Enrollment for admission is usually made during January. a)
To develop a good physique, adequate muscular co-ordination and basic
motor skills:
To achieve these objectives opportunities for climbing, jumping,
sliding, swinging, pedaling, drawing, painting, threading the beads etc.
are provided. b)
To develop good health & to build basic skills
These skills are necessary for personal adjustment of children such
as dressing themselves, toileting, eating etc. In our school, children are
guided to visit the toilet and wash hands at regular hours and
particularly before and after taking snacks which will help them to
develop proper healthy habits. Children are encouraged to do their own
work and be self-reliant. Independence and self-help are encouraged and
praised. c)
To develop desirable social attitudes & manners
This is achieved by encouraging the child to co-operate, share and
take care of the property belonging to him/her as well as others. Teachers
greet the children and receive them saying Good morning and say Good
afternoon while leaving the school and children will very soon pick up
this. d)
To develop emotional maturity
The teacher helps the child to express, understand, accept and
control his/her feelings and emotions. e)
To inculcate aesthetic appreciation in the child
Children are encourage to appreciate beauty in the environment such
as beautiful flowers, colourful butterflies and birds and to enjoy good
music. f)
To stimulate intellectual curiosity
Teachers encourage the child to investigate and experiment and draw
his/her own conclusions. She will have to answer the child's questions
patiently and convincingly to satisfy his/her curiosity. g)
To encourage creativity in the child
This is achieve by providing opportunities for self expression
through drawing, painting, music, drama, clay modeling etc. h)
To develop in the child the ability to express his/her simple thoughts and
feelings in fluent
correct and clear speech
This is achieved through story telling, free conversation,
dramatization etc. New words are introduced and used again and again till
they become a part of their active vocabulary. A large number of
activities involving free use of language are included in the nursery
programme adequately prepare the child to enter the primary school.
2 years 6 months to 3
years 6 months as on 1st June 2001 for L.K.G. The course starts from 25th
May 2001. DURATION
The nursery course is
of 3 years duration. Unless the child completes the three stages (L.K.G.,U.K.G. and Preparatory) of 3 years-course, admission for 1st
standard will not be considered. There will be no double promotion on
consideration of age.
Within a week
from the date of admission to the school, the parent/guardian should equip
the child with the prescribed uniform, books and other stationery
articles. DETAILS
OF SCHOOL UNIFORM
It is obligatory on the
part of the parents to provide 2 sets of daily uniform, afresh every year.
Parents are required to contact the Headmistress for details of school
uniform.
Tuition fee is
payable for all the 12 months of the year. One month's concession is given
if the tuition fee is paid for the whole year in advance before June. RULES
FOR PAYMENT OF FEES
Fees should be paid at
the counter on all working days of the school within the 15th of every
month and the name of the pupil will be removed from the roll if the fee
is not paid even by the end of the month after the expiry of 15 days
grace.
Tuition fee will be collected quarterly as shown below
I Quarter - May to July
II Quarter - August to October
III Quarter - November to January
IV Quarter - February to April Fees should be paid in the first month of every quarter. Amount Remittance Book should be brought at every payment of fees. 1.
The children should have a minimum of 80% attendance of total working days
of the year to be
eligible for promotion to next class. The parents are requested to bring
their children before the prayer bell on all working days. 2.
Every absence should be supported by leave application duly signed by the
parent/guardian addressed to the class-teacher. Children who are ill
should not be sent to school. 3.
In case of sick-leave for more than a week, medical certificate is to be
produced. 4.
Prolonged absence of six continuous weeks will result in the removal of
the name from the roll. 5.
Even for partial leave for half a day or so children should bring
requisition letters from parents/guardians. 6.
During the class-hours children should not leave their class without the
permission of the class-teacher. They are not permitted to go out of the
premises during interval and there-fore they should bring their lunch to
school. Morning
Session: 7-45 a.m. to 12-00 noon Lunch
Interval: Between 10 a.m. to 10-30 a.m. OFFICE-HOURS From
8-30 a.m. to 1-00 p.m. (for fee collection) 1.
Three months prior notice should be given to withdraw the child stating
the reason for doing so. Otherwise, in lieu of three months notice, three
months fee should be paid. If the child is withdrawn no fee is refunded
expect the Advance Tuition Fee. 2.
In case of withdrawal, Transfer Certificate will be issued only on
clearance of all the dues to the Institution. 3.
Term-fee should be paid in case of withdrawal of the child in the middle of
the academic year. 4.
In case the child stays away from school without prior intimation, he/she
will be re-admitted on full payment of the arrears to the institution. 1.
Children are not allowed to wear valuable jewels while coming to the
school. This Institution cannot be held responsible for any loss thereof. 2.
It is not desirable to complain against the Institution and teachers in
the presence of the children. 3.
Parents are requested not to disturb the children during their class-hours. 4.
Birthday of the students will be celebrated on the last Saturday every
month. Parents can participate in the birthday celebrations of their
children in school. 5.
In case parents have any enquiries regarding the progress of their
children, the same should be addressed to the Headmistress in writing. 6.
Children should come in time and attend the common prayer in the Assembly
Hall. 7.
Only written reports as regards to the short-comings of the Institution
will be looked into. 8.
If the parents wish to meet the teachers personally regarding the progress
of their children they can meet them on Saturdays between 12 noon and 1
p.m. 9.
If the parents fail to send their children in clean uniform, the
Headmistress is authorized to get
them cleaned in the school
itself and the cost thereof will be collected from such parents. 10.
Parents or escorts should collect their children within half-an-hour from
the closure of the session. 11.
Private tutions should not be arranged for nursery children. They do not
require any type of home coaching either by parents or private tutors. 12.
Children are not permitted to carry books from home to school. 13.
No books except illustrated story books suitable for nursery children will
be prescribed. 14.
parents should not expect any home-work to be assigned to their children. 15.
Nursery children will not have any tests or examinations. 16.
Regular attendance alone is enough for learning at the nursery-level. 17.
Parents can provide a lot of picture-books at home as a desirable
substitute for home work. 18.
Please avoid comparing your child with other children as every child is
unique in its own way. 19. No gift should be given to the members of the staff without the management's permission.
