FACILITIES
PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL MANAGEMENT
1.
Computer Education is
introduced to High School sections to keep pupils to face with the fast
expanding technological world and the challenges of the 21st
century.
2.
SCHOOL AWARDS : For
regular attendance, neat uniform, good conduct, progress in class, prizes
are given to pupils class-wise every year.
3.
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES :
Literary activities such as debate, drama, quiz, essay writing, TV, News
reading, fine arts, yoga, suryanamaskar, sports, athletics and team games
are taught. Competitions
conducted every year and prizes are awarded.
Pupils are divided into houses and intra-mural competitions are
conducted. Leaders are chosen
to help in maintaining discipline in the school.
All the pupils should compulsorily participate in the competitions.
4.
VOLUNTEERS SERVICE TRAINING:
Volunteer Service Training provided during functions, excursions and
other activities.
5.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
To induce leadership qualities, to kindle a sense of responsibility, to
explore latent talents, to make good use of opportunities, and to redeem
them from the boredom of class-room activities, pupils are given chance to
participate in the following activities.
1. Literacy club
2. Science-in-action
3. Dramatics
4. Music club
5. Fine arts club
6. Humanities club
7. Eco-club
8. Quiz club
9. Wall magazine
10. Sports club.

LIBRARY: Every pupil
must become member of the school library.
There are 1) Class-room libraries where books are issued to pupils
during library periods by the class-teachers.
2) General Central library: during leisure time pupils can enrich
their knowledge by making use of this library.
Every pupil is expected to read at least 10 to 15 books during the
term. They must make a note in the diary, the names of books they
have read.
Reading room facilities are also available for pupils to read
newspapers and magazines.
7.
CLASS MAGAZINES: Every class is encouraged to bring out a class magazine
with the contribution of articles in the form of essays, stories, riddles,
poems, puzzles etc., The
selected articles are published in the school magazine.
8.
EDUCATIONAL TOURS & WEEK
END CAMPS : Pupils are
taken out to various places of historical or geographical interest.
All pupils are expected to participate in these excursions whenever
such excursions are arranged. Nature
camps during week-ends are organised for children.
They are provided opportunities to spend their week-ends amidst
sylvan surroundings away from their homes.
9.
SERVICE ACTIVITY: This
is with a view to instill in the pupils a spirit
of
service to
the needy and develop a fellow-feeling amongst them.
They are
given chances
to participate in the distribution of fruits and biscuits to inmates
of the
orphanages and patients in hospitals, on 2nd October, being
Gandhi
Jayanthi and
School Birthday.
Pupils will have an opportunity to take part in the following
activities also:
1. Prayer
2. Afternoon Lunch Prayer
3. Daily news reading
4.
Broadcasting
5. News board.
10.
CITIZENSHIP COURSE (Practical): Citizenship Course is provided
at least twice a week. Participation
in this course is compulsory for every pupil.
11.
NEWSPAPER READING (News Education):
To encourage pupils to read newspapers and keep abreast of
current affairs and latest advances in several fields of human activity,
one period a week is setr apart for news reading on Saturdays.
Pupils should bring any newspaper in English of any day of the
week. Pupil's performance is
evaluated by allotting marks.
NIE ( Newspaper in Education) is brought by Times of India,
Students not
only subscribe for the paper but also increase their general knowledge and
participate in different activities of NIE, as Dramatics, Quiz, Cartoon
drawing
etc., and get prizes. Every
week NIE conducts work shop to students on
various subjects/topics which are enjoyed by all the students.

Audio, Visual facilities are provided to pupils as specified in the
time table. This includes
16mm films, videocassettes, over head projector, film strip projector
multi media CD ROMs etc., to motivate them for better learning.
13.
Awareness in our rich culture is taught by celebrating all National
and religious festivals.
14.
FLAG-HOISTING : To
provide necessary practical experience for students in flag-hoisting and
dehoisting they are given training in this on specified days.
15. POSTAL
SERVICE: To familarize pupils about the postal facilities and
stationary available, they are provided with all the information required
for
layman. They are also taken
to post offices to show how they function.
16. SELF-STUDY
TIME-TABLE: All
pupils should prepare self-study
(home-study) time-table and get them scrutinized by their class-teachers.
Parents
should see that the pupils follow them at home and inculcate
systematic study habits
17. CRAFT-EXHIBITION:
To provide an opportunity for parents to see
what their children have achieved in their creative and innovative
activities, a
display of pupil's products is arranged. Pupils
should prepare weather charts
every day and submit them to the class-teachers for scrutiny.
Pupils should
maintain personal diary to record their day to day individual activities.
18. STUDENT'S
SAFETY INSURANCE : To cover certain risks to which
children are exposed to "Students' Safety Insurance" is
introduced for which
purpose each pupil has to pay an annual premium.
19. FIRST
AID : First-Aid training is
compulsory for all High school pupils.
Special
classes in first-aid will be conducted by trained teachers.
20. SCIENCE
PRACTICALS: Practicals
are an integral part of science
teaching. So provision is
made for science practicals for high school pupils.
21. GEOGRAPHY
DEPARTMENT: We have a separate Geography
Department with a large number of maps, charts, globes, video cassettes.
Students
are required to use Atlas in Geography classes.
22. STUDENTS'
QUESTION-PAPER : Pupil's are divided into two groups
[class-wise
and subject-wise] and are assigned the work of preparing their own
question papers in different subjects after group discussion with the
guidance of
subject teachers. About
20% of the questions from these papers will be
included in the question
papers for the terminal examinations.

STUDENTS ASSESSED WORK-BOOK DISPLAY:
To enable the
parents to observe and know about the performance and progress of their
children assessed work-books are displayed twice a year (September and
March).
24.
SPORTS AND LITERARY COMPETITIONS: All the pupils should
compulsorily participate in sports and literary activities and take part
in these
competitions. To train
children to participate in sports competitions, weekend
camps
for team games are conducted.
25.
WRITING OF LETTERS DURING HOLIDAYS: To develop their
communication abilities, students are required to write letters to their
class-teachers during midterm and summer vacation for which purpose
post-cards will be provided to them.
26.
To develop leadership qualities in pupils and enable them to
appreciate the importance of service, Students' Service Club is started.
Every year it is democratically reconstituted by electing the
office bearers such as the president, vice-president, joint secretary and
class-representatives. Voting
is by secret ballot.
27.
Project work based on school curriculum is a group activity
involving preparation of models, drawings collection of specimen and
classification etc.,
28.
Sale of confectionery products are organised by the pupils
during lunch break.
29.
Annual Medical Examination is compulsory for all students.
BOOKS
TO BE CARRIED TO SCHOOL: To reduce the load of books and prevent
needless strain for their backbones, the pupils are advised to bring only
the language and Mathematics text books according to the time-table. They
can use the other text books on core subjects at home for self study.
HOME-WORK
: Home-work time-table is mentioned in the programme-of-work.
Pupils should do the exercises as per the date mentioned and submit
the same to the concerned teacher the next day. Parents are requested to
see that their children do the Home-assignments regularly for about 1 hour
a day.
PRIVATE
TUITIONS: Without the prior permission of the Principal no parent
should engage a private tutor for any pupil.
This is to avoid needless confusion in the minds of children while
learning a subject due to different methods of teaching adopted by
different teachers. In case private tuition is found absolutely necessary for
some children, the Principal will advice the parents concerned suitably.
INTERVIEWS:
When students enter the worlds of work after the completion of
education they have to face frequent interviews when they are required to
impress upon the interviewer about their presence of mind, conversational
ability and etiquette. To expose them to a stimulated situation we conduct
frequent interviews.
PASSPORT:
It has been planned to take pupils of high school to places of
international importance outside India, in batches.
Hence, all the pupils are advised to obtain passport either through
any travel agency or directly from passport office.
This will enable them to participate in tours outside the country
when arranged.
